Downtown Condo

What if your space is small and certain structural elements can't be eliminated for a reasonable cost?  At this downtown condo, space was at a premium.  But rather than worry about how to take away a load-bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room, the wall was featured by painting it vermillion and using it to incorporate light switches, outlets and a TV that comes in handy for viewing cooking shows.

Similarly, the space for the walk-in closet, which was already tight, presented a difficult problem for adding a privacy door.  An elegant solution was found by installing a sliding wood door with obscured glass inserts.
