Intuition Jewellery Store

Pandora Jewellery is made in Denmark and has rapidly taken the North American jewellery market by storm. At Yorkville Design Centre, we were lucky enough to be commissioned to design one of the first Pandora stores in Toronto, owned by a young entrepreneur who foresaw the phenomenal growth of this brand.

We were fortunate that the client, having only recently become a franchisee, was still eager to be inventive in his outlook for the store.  He wanted us to design a unique jewellery boutique at the front half of the store with the Pandora branding only in the back half of the store as a 'shop-in-shop'.  Therefore, we were able to make our design original and did not have to accommodate all of the Pandora branding elements in the front.

Our concept created the Intuition Jewellery store as an independent brand. We designed the store on the outside as a mirror of what was being offered for sale inside. In other words, we created a setting for an architectural gem located inside the Yonge Eglinton Centre.

There are a number of features that define this gem.

      ·      We designed the storefront to appear like a jewellery case, having individual jewellery boxes that can be viewed from the mall and from                 the inside of the store.

      ·      Inside, we designed custom-made glass and stainless steel jewellery cases to hang from our custom designed ceiling.  The view of the                   customer was focused onto the jewellery using LED lighting concealed inside the cases.

      ·      The front half of the store also acted as an overture, leading to the Pandora 'shop-in-shop' in the back of the shop. This design feature                     brought a feeling of ceremony to moving through the store.

Since designing this first store for our young client, we have continued to prepare design and working drawings for three more locations, which have subsequently been opened by him in Thunder Bay, Newmarket, and inside the Hudson Bay store in downtown Toronto.

Still, this first store we did for Pandora is our favourite because it set the stage for the stores to follow.
